I can’t say that 2018 was one of my favourite years. Well, I could, but that would be a lie. Nobody likes lies. Knowing that honesty is better and that I didn’t enjoy 2018, I put together a short list of things I’d like to do in 2019 in an effort to ensure the next 365 days are more enjoyable than the previous 365 days were.
Here is where I share that short list. I’ll call it a plan.
First, I will be sharing a daily photograph from my Instagram account—cleverly named 5c4r3834r because that is how you spell Scarebear using numbers and letters when someone else beats you to the handle you try to use everywhere. Each daily photograph will be using a Lego minifigure and a plectrum. Each plectrum will be different throughout the year, so I’ll know that I have 365 different plectrums by the end of the year.
I do not currently have 365 plectrums. I’m more than happy to take suggestions on cool, unique, funky and photographic plectrums.
The Lego minifigures may require some mixing and matching of pieces to create that sense of individuality. I am nowhere near 365 minifigures and I don’t expect to have that many. Even for my hoarding abilities, that is a big ask.
Secondly, I will be sharing 26 different music playlists on my Scarebear Guitars website. That seemed like a good idea when I came up with it last year.
Can you believe last year already means 2018?!
The concept for the 26 playlists is quite simple. Bands and artists have names. These names start with a letter from the alphabet. The alphabet has 26 letters and there are 26 fortnights in the year. Therefore, I can write a blog post every two weeks focusing on bands that start with a particular letter. I’ve already started with the letter A.
Only 25 more blog posts to go. I’m almost finished, right?!
The last challenge is less official than the previous two. But I really don’t like to create lists with fewer than three items in them.
I am really hoping to add a lot more content to my other Scarebear websites (such as this one). My interests in photography and graphic design deserve greater attention. Partially because I just created improved websites for them both and equally because they are genuine interests I have.
Surely I should spend quality time on the things I like!? That’s the plan—or series of plans. Wish me luck.
