There are going to be two Wimmers contenders in this list. When I compare the nutritional values of each drink I may discover that the drinks themselves are exactly the same. What I'm hoping to discover is that there is a difference between a glass bottle and a plastic bottle when it comes to the taste that is delivered to the drinker. I'm also hoping to discover if there is a sensible limit to the amount of Wimmers Double Sarsaparilla one should drink in one sitting—the plastic bottle is a larger serve.
So, let's see how the 600mL plastic bottle from my Regular category stacks up when compared to the drinks I've sampled so far.
Interestingly—to those that find any part of this sarsaparilla themed competition interesting—the glass bottle of Wimmers is the sarsaparilla I was drinking during the week as part of my regular life as a non-sarsaparilla focussed human. And by the time I got to the end of this plastic bottle I already knew there was a difference between this and the smaller glass bottle version.
This 600mL variety is just as tasty as the glass bottle variety. But by the time you are at the end of the bottle there is a feeling of over sweetening. This could be on account of the volume or because of the pure sugar cane sweetening. This did make me wonder about the previous contender in this competition and its pure honey sweetening.
Having said that, Wimmers is certainly a tasty contender and by no means the least refreshing option I've tasted so far. With over 100 years of practice I do believe they know what they're doing. That's probably why I look forward to trying the glass bottle variety—which I'm sad to say leaves this plastic bottle in its dust when comparing style—very soon.
